Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Paris you might start at the Trocadéro with the Eiffel Tower behind you, cross the Pont de Bir-Hakeim and finish in the quiet lanes of Montmartre; on the Riviera your photographer will route you through Èze's stone passages before the tour groups arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Paris' limestone façades, Provence's ochre villages and the Riviera's blue. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Montmartre's cobbles are steep, Èze is all stairs, and lavender fields are dusty. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy evenings on the coast or by the lakes. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In France, sunset ranges from around 5pm in winter to almost 10pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on the Seine or above the Mediterranean at Èze are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you the Trocadéro, the Louvre courtyard or Annecy's old town nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong southern summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Professional photoshoots in Dijon start from €310. Packages vary by duration and the number of edited photos — an hour covering the Place de la Libération and the old town lanes, or two hours that add the vineyard slope at Marsannay and the start of the Route des Grands Crus. Most couples book 60 to 90 minutes; the vines need the longer option.

The half-timbered lanes north of it — Rue des Forges, Rue Verrerie, Rue de la Chouette — linked by the brass owls set into the pavement. The gargoyle rows and Jacquemart clock on Notre-Dame. And, eight kilometres south, the first vine rows above Marsannay-la-Côte.

Early morning. The Place de la Libération is empty before eight and the pale stone takes the low sun; by ten the terraces are set out and the lanes are busy. Evening blue hour works too, with the palace lit. For season, May to October is comfortable; the vineyards south of the city are green from June and gold from late September into mid-October.
