The proposal itself is captured from a distance with a long lens, then the photographer reveals themselves and continues with a celebratory mini-session: the ring, the happy tears, the toast. No — discretion is the whole craft. French landmarks work in your favour here: at the Trocadéro, on the Seine bridges or in Èze's garden, everyone is holding a camera, so one more photographer attracts zero attention. Your photographer will scout the spot beforehand, position themselves naturally, and never make eye contact with you until the ring is out. It depends where you are. The Côte d'Azur enjoys around 300 sunny days a year, so an Èze or Antibes proposal has excellent odds; Paris and Normandy are less predictable, which is why every proposal plan comes with a backup: an alternative sheltered location (the arcades of the Palais-Royal, a covered passage, a museum courtyard), a flexible time window on the same day, or a free reschedule to the next day if conditions are truly impossible. Overcast light is actually soft and flattering for photos, and a light drizzle on the Seine quays has produced some very cinematic proposals — so a grey sky alone is no reason to panic. Your photographer will talk you through the options the day before, and the decision always stays yours.

Professional photoshoots in Antibes start from €310, and most one- to two-hour packages fall between about €310 and €450 depending on length and the number of edited photos. That covers a short session on the sea ramparts as well as a longer route that adds the old town lanes and the Cap d'Antibes coastal path. Edited photos usually arrive within about a week.

The rampart walk along the sea is the spine of any session, with the old town above it and the Alps behind the bay on clear winter days. Add the ochre lanes around the Cours Masséna market, Plage de la Gravette tucked inside the harbour wall, the superyachts of Port Vauban under Fort Carré, and the coastal path from Plage de la Garoupe on Cap d'Antibes.

The ramparts face east, so sunrise lifts the stone while the walk is still empty; the market lanes only clear once the stalls pack up in early afternoon. Sunset belongs to the Juan-les-Pins side of the cape. The Garoupe coastal path closes in heavy swell and the wind can be serious, so keep a rampart plan B.
