The Cap d'Antibes coast path from Plage de la Garoupe

A cut-stone path around the foot of the cape — pines above, clear water below, and a bay of pale sand at one end of it.

The Sentier du Littoral runs around the seaward side of Cap d'Antibes, starting at the Plage de la Garoupe and working around the rocks to the Villa Eilenroc side. Much of it is cut into the stone: steps, ledges, low walls, umbrella pines leaning out over the water, and small coves where the sea is glass-clear over pale rock.

The path is the location, not one viewpoint on it. In the first ten minutes from the beach you already have three quite different sets: soft sand and shallow turquoise water at La Garoupe, pines and dappled shade on the approach, and open rock ledges with the sea filling the background. That variety in a short walk is why it beats the cape's road-side villas, which are private and mostly hidden anyway.

Morning light comes off the water and up onto the east-facing rock; late afternoon puts the sun behind the cape and turns the pines into silhouettes over bright sea. Summer midday is bleaching and busy; May, June, September and October are the good months, with warm water and a path you can walk without queueing.

Practical, and it matters: this is a proper coastal footpath, not a promenade. Stone is uneven and slippery when wet, some sections are exposed, and the path is closed in rough seas and heavy weather — check before setting out, because when it is shut it is shut. Wear grippy shoes, carry water, and be honest with clients about the walk before booking a dress they cannot move in.
