Professional photoshoots in Yvoire start from €279. Packages differ by duration and the number of edited photos — an hour in the flowered lanes and at the harbour sits at the lower end, while two hours adding the breakwater and Excenevex beach usually runs to about €450. The village is small enough that nothing is more than a few minutes' walk.

The medieval gates and the stone lanes under their geraniums, the fishermen's harbour with the château rising straight out of the water behind, the breakwater looking across to the Swiss shore, and the Jardin des Cinq Sens inside its hornbeam walls. Ten minutes east, Excenevex adds the only natural sand beach on the lake.

Come before ten or after five. Day boats land visitors through the middle of the day and the lanes are narrow enough that a queue shows in every frame. June to September is the flowering season and the reason the village looks the way it does; from November to March a good part of it closes and the lake turns grey.

The château is private and closed to visitors, so it is photographed from the harbour, the breakwater or the water — which is the better angle anyway. The Jardin des Cinq Sens is a ticketed garden open roughly from mid-April to early October, with its own rules on photography: check the current opening times and ask permission before a session there.
