Professional photoshoots in Dinard start from €279. Packages differ by duration and by the number of edited photos you receive. An hour covers the Plage de l'Écluse and the Pointe du Moulinet comfortably; two hours lets you add the Promenade du Clair de Lune, or drive west along the Emerald Coast to Saint-Lunaire. The striped bathing tents on the Plage de l'Écluse are the town's signature, and the sea wall above them frames the whole crescent of sand. The Promenade du Clair de Lune adds palms, agaves and a view straight across at Saint-Malo, while the Pointe du Moulinet stacks turreted villas above turquoise water. Further out, the rock arch at Saint-Lunaire and the cliffs of Cap Fréhel repay the drive.

Late afternoon into sunset. The light arrives from the west across the sea, warms the villas on the Moulinet headland and lets the beach empty out at the same time. Early morning is the quiet alternative, with soft light on Saint-Malo opposite. July and August bring the bathing tents but also the crowds; September and early October keep the colour and lose most of the visitors.

More than anything else here. The tidal range in this bay is among the largest in Europe, and between low and high water the sand, the rock pools and the walk you had in mind can simply be gone.
