Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Paris you might start at the Trocadéro with the Eiffel Tower behind you, cross the Pont de Bir-Hakeim and finish in the quiet lanes of Montmartre; on the Riviera your photographer will route you through Èze's stone passages before the tour groups arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Paris' limestone façades, Provence's ochre villages and the Riviera's blue. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Montmartre's cobbles are steep, Èze is all stairs, and lavender fields are dusty. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy evenings on the coast or by the lakes. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In France, sunset ranges from around 5pm in winter to almost 10pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on the Seine or above the Mediterranean at Èze are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you the Trocadéro, the Louvre courtyard or Annecy's old town nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong southern summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Professional photoshoots at Château de Chambord start from €310, and most one- to two-hour packages fall between about €310 and €450 depending on length and the number of edited photos. That covers a dawn hour at the canal as well as a longer morning across the great lawn and the avenues of the domaine. Edited photos usually arrive within about a week.

The classic frame is the full façade doubled in the water of the Cosson canal. Then the great lawn on the north side, wide and clean with room to walk a couple through it; the tree-lined avenues of the domaine; the rooftop terraces among the lantern towers and chimneys; and, inside, the double-helix staircase attributed to Leonardo, two spirals that never meet.

Dawn, and it is not close. The grounds open long before the château doors, mist hangs over the park, and the canal is still enough to hold the reflection. Light rakes across the façade in the morning and again in the last hour. Car parks fill by late morning in season, and by then your best frames are already done.
