A legally binding civil wedding in France is only possible at a town hall and requires that one of you has lived in that commune for at least a month, which rules it out for most visitors. Note that some sites — the gardens of Versailles, Paris museums, certain protected beaches — restrict professional photography, so ceremonies happen near, not inside them. It scales with your day. The minimal version is a 60-90 minute session covering the vows and a portrait walk — from €300, ideal if you're keeping things spontaneous. Half-day coverage (3-4 hours) adds getting ready, the journey to the spot, and a relaxed golden-hour portrait session after the ceremony. Full-day coverage follows the whole story from morning coffee to a candlelit dinner table. Professional photoshoots at Château de Chambord start from €310, and most one- to two-hour packages fall between about €310 and €450 depending on length and the number of edited photos. That covers a dawn hour at the canal as well as a longer morning across the great lawn and the avenues of the domaine. Edited photos usually arrive within about a week.

The classic frame is the full façade doubled in the water of the Cosson canal. Then the great lawn on the north side, wide and clean with room to walk a couple through it; the tree-lined avenues of the domaine; the rooftop terraces among the lantern towers and chimneys; and, inside, the double-helix staircase attributed to Leonardo, two spirals that never meet.

Dawn, and it is not close. The grounds open long before the château doors, mist hangs over the park, and the canal is still enough to hold the reflection.
