Most couples sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, enough time to visit 2-3 locations and capture a wide variety of natural, relaxed moments together. In Paris you might start at the Trocadéro with the Eiffel Tower behind you, cross the Pont de Bir-Hakeim and finish in the quiet lanes of Montmartre; on the Riviera your photographer will route you through Èze's stone passages before the tour groups arrive. The golden rule is to coordinate without matching — complementary colors and classic styles that reflect your personality. Solid, muted tones (cream, navy, sage, terracotta) photograph beautifully against Paris' limestone façades, Provence's ochre villages and the Riviera's blue. Avoid busy patterns, large logos and neon colors. Comfortable shoes matter: Montmartre's cobbles are steep, Èze is all stairs, and lavender fields are dusty. Bring a second outfit for variety on longer sessions, and a light layer for breezy evenings on the coast or by the lakes. Golden hour — shortly after sunrise or before sunset — gives the most flattering, warm, romantic light. In France, sunset ranges from around 5pm in winter to almost 10pm in summer, so plan accordingly. Sunset sessions on the Seine or above the Mediterranean at Èze are legendary, but they're also the busiest hours; sunrise shoots give you the Trocadéro, the Louvre courtyard or Annecy's old town nearly to yourselves. Midday works too in shaded old-town lanes, but the strong southern summer sun needs an experienced photographer. Professional photoshoots in Cannes start from €310, and most one- to two-hour packages fall between about €310 and €450 depending on length and the number of edited photos. That covers anything from a short early session on the Croisette to a longer route that climbs through Le Suquet for golden hour over the old port. Edited photos usually arrive within about a week.

The Croisette with its palms and belle-époque hotel facades, the beach in front of the Carlton, the red-carpet steps of the Palais des Festivals when no event is on, the lanes of Le Suquet climbing above the Vieux Port, the terrace by the Musée des Explorations du Monde facing west over the bay and the Esterel hills, and the Marché Forville for colour in the morning.

Shoot the Croisette early, before the promenade fills and while the light on the bay is still soft, then keep Le Suquet for golden hour — its terrace is the town's one genuine sunset spot and stays quiet. Summer middays are harsh and crowded; May, June and September give the same light with far fewer people, and winter afternoons on the seafront are surprisingly mild and clear.
