The church is the reason to come: an eighteenth-century baroque village church with a painted façade, a bell tower in the Savoyard style and an interior of gilded woodwork that is startling for a hamlet this size.
The frame is the church, the graveyard wall and the Bionnassay glacier hanging above it. A few steps in either direction along the road give barns, wooden chalets and the whole valley dropping away, and there are benches and level ground, which makes it easy with older relatives or small children.
