Sunrise and the last hour of light. The Pointe faces west, so evening puts the sun straight down the channel and behind La Vieille, while dawn empties the path completely. May, June and September give long days and workable weather; July and August fill the car park by eleven. Winter light is beautiful and the wind is serious.

You drive to the Grand Site car park and walk the last eight hundred metres or so across open heath; a shuttle runs in the busy months. Parking is paid, and the walk means comfortable shoes and a windproof layer for everyone in the session. It depends on what kind of ceremony you want.
