Where the shoot happens
- Place de la Bourse and the Miroir d'eau. The square opens onto the river and faces east, so dawn lights the façades head-on. The mirror is a granite slab under two centimetres of water that runs in cycles, water then mist, on set hours rather than around the clock, and is usually off in winter: let the photographer time the session to it.
- Saint-Pierre. Narrow streets, the Place du Parlement and the Place Saint-Pierre with its church. Café terraces fill from late morning; early is quiet.
- The quays and the Pont de Pierre. The long 18th-century river front and the stone bridge with its 17 arches. Best at sunrise; in the evening the sun sets behind the city.
